ARCHITECTURAL PROPORTIONS
what I have learn from Aalto's design is that all the how to combine the abstract idea together and won't make it hard to understand. The more you dig out from villa mairea, the more you will be amazed. Like the building shape and half open half closed spaces. First, don't make your building too abrupt to the surrounding environment, like the columns using in the Villa and the details about columns make a echo to the forest, also has good effect to different perspective views. From Villa Mairea, the second good point is division of public and private space, Aalto's practice didn't make the building sort of only building and has no harmony feelings to people, the villa is not only the place people have daily activities, but also the place people will love it because of it fulls of vigor and nature.

WEEKLY PROCESS - project 2
VILLA MAIREA
I chose villa mairea is because this
building is kind of different from my project 1 building, villa muller is
arranged in one big box and the box divided in different story level, villa
mairea is much different, it is built in “U” shape and surrounding by the
trees, the reason why I chose villa mairea is that I want to figure out why
Aalto has such idea to build in irregular shape and the interior space has so
many startling design, and in architect aspect, even very detail point, there
is also some surprise for you to dig out.
site of the villa, it's surrounding by forest and has great connection of their families who live in different place.
